Living outside of the cis-het box makes life more challenging, but also more fabulous! R.A. Frick’s X Club series is full of kinky Daddies, trans and non-binary main characters, and crime subplots in every book. All are in paperback, ebook, and on KU, including the compilation with a bonus short story!
When I finished the series (complete with a post-wedding sex party involving all of them X Club characters) I was invited to a bunch of collaborations. Why not keep writing these fabulous folx who lived in my head rent free? So, I continued the X Club Universe, where all of my books might have a cameo…or five!
Main Series
When the world shut down in 2020, I turned to my old half-written manuscripts from a decade before. That year, I published my first YA novel with magical realism, followed by my second, a YA Dystopian in early 2021. It was a learning process, and I found myself wanting to write what I read: kinky, queer Romance!
Set in San Francisco
Based on my own experiences visiting the Citadel before it closed, I created a club set in San Francisco. No space is ever fully safe when your gender and sex life have their own set of rules, I wanted X Club to be the found family for queer kinksters to find their loves. An ideal, where the bigots get what is coming to them and the queers get their happily ever afters!
Appearances
Between the characters and businesses in X Club books, I have a lot of cameos! Whenever I need a sassy drag queen, and computer hacker, or a jock, I bring in Roman from For Keeps. Need a gym or trainers? I have Jefferson, Q and A. Now, some characters are even married with children popping into my other stories!

Found Family
The queer community has a long history of struggling to find their place. We get rejected by blood and find our comfort in chosen family. Many of my books have themes of homophobia and violence by side characters, but in the end, they always get what’s coming. The main characters discover love as well as a place to call home!
