Not to whine, but life is hard right now. The world is literally on fire, cost of living keeps going up, and I just want to read and write queer romance! It’s stressful right now, for everyone, but also personally, and the anxiety of it all is almost inescapable. If you’d rather not know how life is going for R.A. If you follow me on the book of face, you might have seen me talking about the teacher strike I’ve been on with my day job for over a week. While missing six days of work (so far) to march 2-4 hours a day has meant more writing time, it also means loss of income. We’re inching close to earning nothing after taxes and insurance next month, which would be difficult, since my books only earn me about 5 to 10% of my income. My youngest is turning thirteen this month, and we won’t be able to have a birthday party for them, and it’s eating at me that I’m letting them down. But, if the strike ends with healthcare covered and a raise, things will be better next year! Keep your fingers crossed for me. ❤
On top of this, February was my worst month for sales in over three years, something I’ve heard from authors across the indie world.
